ProLUG started as an in-person meetup envisioned by Het Tanis "Scott Champine" to create a relaxed, informal space where Linux professionals could collaborate and learn from each other.

2019

ProLUG expanded into an online community to reach a broader, global audience, enabling members worldwide to join discussions and share ideas on Discord.

2020

Het began creating interactive labs on Killercoda to help others get hands-on experience with Linux, Ansible, Kubernetes, and more.

2024

The first certification course, Enterprise Linux Administration, was introduced and the first cohort of participants graduated in January 2025.
